Shaun White
Shaun White is one of the hottest athletes in America today… or perhaps, in the world. You may have seen him on 60 Minutes a week ago. He took home gold in the men’s halfpipe in Torino, and is the favorite to win in Vancouver. Since 2002, he has earned 15 gold medals in the Winter X Games.
Not only is Shaun White a great snowboarder, he is also an excellent skateboarder. Between 2005 and 2008, he took home three X games medals for skateboarding.
Ironically, Shaun started snowboarding after his parents saw him on skis and thought that it was too dangerous. They thought that he’d be slower. It turned out to be a good move for him.
Shaun White is probably the envy of many a snowboarder… not only for his skills, but because he has his own private halfpipe. On top of that, he must be doing well financially. He drives a Lamborghini Murcielago, which he drove around on 60 Minutes the other day.

White discussed the issue of his mom taking the gold medal to the cleaners in the interview with that guy on TV. It was so funny! Shaun asked his mother if there was a way they could get the ribbon clean as it had gotten really dirty and his mother took the whole thing to the dry cleaners! White was astonished when his mom came back it back with the dry cleaning bag on top of it. Shaun also found it was funny that she complained about how much it was to get it cleaned.
