Although many of us are focusing on the Winter Olympics at this point, there are several deadlines that are coming up for the first Youth Olympic Games, which take place in Singapore between the 14th and 26th of August this year.

If you would like to volunteer for the Singapore Youth Olympic Games, your application needs to be turned in by 28 February 2010. You need to be 18 by March 1st of this year to volunteer as an individual. Local students can see if they can volunteer through their school.

If you would like to be a photographer for the Youth Olympic Games, the deadline to apply is February 28th.

If you are a young athlete who would like to attend the Singapore Sports School in Singapore, the deadline to apply for the Singapore Youth Olympic Scholarship is 16 April 2010. This is a school for young elite athletes, and it will be awarded once every four years.

The 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics is only 179 days away.

In other Youth Olympic News, the Chinese city of Nanjing has been selected as the host city for the Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2014. The first Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held in 2012 in Innsbruck.
